Servers in London –
managed from Reading
UK WooCommerce hosting, hosted in London, managed from Reading
If your customers are mostly UK and European, hosting your store on UK infrastructure isn’t just a nice-to-have.
Our servers are based in London, which keeps latency low for UK visitors and gives a fast, direct connection into European networks. We’re based in Reading (Berkshire), and every account is managed from here.
This isn’t hosting run out of a data centre on another continent with a support desk to match. It’s a UK business, hosting UK WooCommerce stores, on UK servers.

who is this for?
This plan is built for a medium-to-large WooCommerce store that’s outgrown shared or budget hosting. It includes a staging environment that mirrors your live site’s storage and object caching, so you can test changes properly before they go live.
You’re not limited to one big store either. If you’d rather run two or three smaller WooCommerce sites and a staging environment across the same resources, that works just as well.
There’s no cPanel here. We handle the technical setup of PHP, the web server, database and security ourselves, so you can spend your time running the business instead of the server. By keeping the software stack lean, all server resources are put towards keeping your website running fast.
why headwall hosting is different
We’re not a multi-national corporation. We’re an independent provider of professional WordPress & WooCommerce hosting, and that shapes how we work.
There’s no account manager working through a script, and no ticket queue routing you to whoever’s free. If something needs attention, you’re dealing with the person who set up your server and knows your site’s history.
We also don’t run a one-size-fits-all hosting product. Everything here is built specifically for WordPress and WooCommerce, not squeezed onto a generic platform designed to run anything. If your site has specific technical requirements, and they don’t compromise security or performance, we’ll configure those for you.
what people are saying
proactive security and threat management
If you’ve had a WordPress site hacked before, you’ll know how disruptive it is: the site goes down, you’re left cleaning up the mess, and it’s often hard to work out how the attacker got in. Our approach is built to catch problems before they get that far.
We monitor server log files and resource usage continuously, often the first place an attack shows up. We also run regular scans across every site for infected or suspicious files. Back-end security measures are adapted on an ongoing basis to stay ahead of new threats.
Every site we host includes built-in brute-force login protection, so you don’t need to install plugins like Wordfence. You’re welcome to run it if you prefer, but we’ve found it adds unnecessary overhead and can slow a site down. Our protection is built into the server itself, so it’s effective without the performance cost.
automatic backups & updates
Every site we host, live and staging, keeps 21 consecutive days of full-site backups. They’re encrypted and pushed to an off-site server every night, so you’re covered even if something happens to the server itself.
WordPress core, plugins and themes are updated automatically overnight. When an update breaks something, it’s almost always a small fix, usually a missing check for a null value before the code tries to use it, so we write and test a patch, then send it upstream as a diff. For anything bigger, we roll the plugin back straight away and send our error logs to the developer instead. If a proper fix looks like it’ll take more than 24 hours, we pause auto-updates on that plugin until it’s resolved.
If you’re mid-way through a specific issue or new feature with a plugin developer yourself, you can ask us to pause auto-updates on that plugin until you’re ready.
what about a CDN?
We don’t include a CDN as standard. If most of your customers are in the UK or Europe, you probably don’t need one unless your site leans heavily on video or high-resolution product images.
You can use Cloudflare alongside our hosting, though we tend to recommend against it. It’s excellent at absorbing large-scale attacks, but for most WordPress and WooCommerce sites it lets through more than it should unless you’re actively maintaining its WAF rules. Our own firewall is already tuned specifically for WordPress and WooCommerce threats.
For sites that do need one, particularly for visitors outside Europe, we recommend BunnyNet. We’ve no affiliation with them, just experience tuning WordPress and WooCommerce to work well with their service. Here’s how we set it up, if you want the detail.
